Collection: Lorne Toews
Lorne Toews was born in Winkler, Manitoba in 1949. He grew up in Winnipeg where he received a B.F A (Hons.) in 1974 from the University of Manitoba. He obtained a M.F.A. from Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana in 1976 after which he taught in the Department of Art and Art History at McMaster University , Hamilton, Ontario for several years . This was followed by 28 years of teaching at the Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto , Ontario. He retired from teaching in 2013.
Lorne has had solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions over the years in both Canada and the U.S.A. His work is in both public and private collections in both countries. He has also had both private and public portrait commissions.
