More Information: The classical style stone bridge with two graceful large curved arches and strong buttresses was built circa 1830 as an upgraded passage over Spencer's Creek. The unique 'S' configuration was necessary as the road north from Bullock's Corners and the road south from Greenville were not constructed in straight line relative to each other. The narrow bridge was demolished and replaced in the 1960's with a new concrete bridge and straightened road alignments.
